Welcome Message
Technical program chair
On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome all participants to the 18th Biomedical Engineering International Conference (BMEiCON 2026), held in Fukuoka, Japan, from October 10–13, 2026.
BMEiCON has long served as an international forum where researchers, engineers, healthcare professionals, academics, and students come together to share new ideas and advances in biomedical engineering. We are especially delighted to return to Fukuoka for the third time and to continue strengthening the academic and professional connections between our communities in Thailand, Japan, and countries around the world.
The strong response to BMEiCON 2026 reflects the continued growth and vitality of our field. This year, we received 230 paper submissions, from which 162 papers were selected for presentation following a rigorous peer-review process. The technical program comprises 24 sessions, providing a broad platform for participants to present their research, exchange perspectives, and explore emerging developments across biomedical engineering and related disciplines.
An important highlight of this year's conference is our distinguished group of invited speakers. We are privileged to welcome:
Associate Professor Somyot Kaitwanidvilai
Dean, School of Engineering
King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thailand
Professor Nobuhiko Kojima
Graduate School of Nanobioscience
Yokohama City University, Japan
Professor Kuo-Yung Hung
Department of Mechanical Engineering
Ming Chi University of Technology, Taiwan
Yoshihiro Tange
Department of Advanced Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine
Oita University, Japan
Manuel H. Luque Casanave
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, Lima, Peru
We sincerely appreciate their participation and look forward to the knowledge, perspectives, and inspiration they will bring to our conference.
BMEiCON 2026 would not be possible without the commitment of many individuals working behind the scenes. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all members of the Technical Program Committee and our reviewers for their careful evaluation of the submitted papers and their contribution to maintaining the academic quality of the conference.
My special appreciation goes to Dr. Adisorn Leelasantithum, Publication Chair, for coordinating the publication process; Professor Tadayuki Akagi, General Chair, for his leadership and support; Dr. Sarinporn Visitsattapongse, Financial Chair, for her dedicated work; Keiko Yoshii, Publicity Chair, for promoting the conference; and Satoshi Makita, General Secretary, for his invaluable coordination. I am equally grateful to the entire organizing and local committees, whose commitment and teamwork have made this conference possible.
Beyond the presentations and technical discussions, I hope BMEiCON 2026 will provide opportunities to renew friendships, establish new collaborations, and generate ideas that extend well beyond these four days. Our networking activities are intended to encourage these connections and strengthen the international biomedical engineering community.
I wish all participants a productive and memorable conference. May you enjoy stimulating discussions, meaningful collaborations, and the opportunity to experience the unique hospitality and atmosphere of Fukuoka.
Welcome to BMEiCON 2026, and I look forward to meeting you throughout the conference.
Warm regards,
Chuchart Pintavirooj
